Why sustainability has become a business requirement

International customers, investors and regulators increasingly expect companies to back up their claims with concrete figures on greenhouse gas emissions, resource use and social governance. In Vietnam, Decree 06/2022/ND-CP (as amended by Decree 119/2025/ND-CP) requires facilities on the list issued by the Prime Minister to carry out GHG inventories. In export markets, the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the supply-chain decarbonisation programmes of large brands mean customers increasingly ask for carbon data.

Self-declared figures are rarely convincing on their own. An independent third-party evaluation helps confirm whether data has been calculated according to the stated criteria, is complete and can be traced.

Frequently asked questions

Which sustainability service should we start with?

Most organisations begin with an organisational GHG inventory to ISO 14064-1, because it is the baseline for ESG reporting, target setting and answering customer questionnaires. If a customer is asking about a specific product, a product carbon footprint to ISO 14067 is usually the better starting point.

How is GHG verification different from inventory consulting?

Consulting helps you build the methodology and calculate the figures. Verification is an independent third-party activity that evaluates whether the report is accurate, complete and transparent, and ends with a verification statement. To stay impartial, a verification body does not also act as consultant for the same report.

Do exporters to the EU need carbon data?

Increasingly, yes. Since 2026 CBAM has been in its definitive period: authorised CBAM declarants in the EU must declare the embedded emissions of imported iron and steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity, and non-EU producers are usually asked to supply this data. Many European buyers also ask suppliers to share emissions data for their Scope 3 reporting.
